Sidharth Malhotra – Manoj Bajpayee’s Aiyaary Trailer Out

Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee featured Neeraj Pandey‘s Aiyaary’s trailer was released yesterday. This is the first time that Sidharth and Manoj are sharing screen space. Sidharth whose last performance with Ittefaq was highly appreciated and so expectations are high this time.

Aiyaary is a film based on true events. It is based on the lives of two army officers, who though very different from each other, are uncompromising and right in their own ways. While Manoj is the mentor, Sidharth is a protege, and their relationship is what is the highlight of the film. Neeraj Pandey recently in an interview had mentioned that the meaning of the word, ‘Aiyaary’ is ‘ultimate trickery’.

The marketing strategy they have adopted for their film was also bit different. On December 14, actor Sidharth Malhotra’s cryptic tweet led to a flurry of reactions on social media. The tweet read, “Sorry, I am done”, and was followed by changing his display picture to black and his Twitter bio to ‘off’. Many expressed their concern and tried to cheer the actor. In the middle of this, his Aiyaary co-star Rakul Preet responded by asking if things were okay. The hashtag, #SidsOffTheGrid, that she used along with this tweet, however, gave away the fact that it was a marketing strategy for their film. Soon, #SidsOffTheGrid began trending. Following this, Twitterati began imagining funny scenarios that could end with “Sorry I am done” and the results are some hilarious reactions.

The film is slated to release on January 26, 2018, Republic day along with Akshay Kumar’s Padman.
