FATE – The World’s Greatest Lie

At least once in our lifetime, we all might have used the world’s greatest lie. And the world’s greatest lie according to ‘The Alchemist‘ is fate. “It’s this: that at a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what’s happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate. That’s the world’s greatest lie.”

Don’t you think that it’s very true? We humans always want someone or something to be blamed for our mistakes, losses, mishappenings and everything that goes wrong. ‘Fate’ is the perfect thing for that. Fate is a scapegoat we humans have created for hiding our mistakes.

Let us consider a scenario where we pointlessly play the blame game on fate. When I was at an age to select my majors I wanted to take literature and my family had another plan for me. They wanted me to do a professional course. And I took Engineering unwillingly. Here do you think I have the right to blame it on fate? I had the options either to convince my parents or go against their wish. The choice was mine. Whatever it is I made the choice so am I not responsible for the result?

It’s not like if the outcome is good then you can take away all the credits and if the outcome is bad you blame it on fate. Irrespective of the outcome the responsibility of what happens is all yours as it’s YOU who made the choice. Remember that you always have an option but the choice is yours and once you make a choice, the responsibility is all yours whether it’s good or bad.

If there is something known as FATE then remember that we are spinning our own fates, good or evil, never to be undone. Do not believe in a fate that will fall on You no matter what You do. But believe in a fate that will fall on You if You do nothing.
